The Battlefield of Sports

It is on the Battlefield of Sports where we are allowed to an openly express some of our suppressed animal instincts.
  
What is it that drives us to compete? Is it that in sports we can express all those penned up emotions that we have been taught are not acceptable expressing in public?  In competition we have the opportunity to test our muscles and endurance, to push and be pushed while releasing all that unused energy and finding acceptance in the process. 

Is this desire for physical conflict a carryover from an earlier time in our lives?  Maybe it is an expression of the animal within each of us asking to be tested physically and to feel strong after the conquest. We express all sorts of behaviors during sports that might get us arrested for off the field.  This is why the concept, "leave it on the field" is so important.    
 
When watching dogs play and noticing how they use all parts of their body to express and vent their energies.  Babies express themselves just fine by crying, screaming, yelling and laughing without evaluation. As babyhood ends so does our ability to express our free flowing emotions. Does not being able to express our emotions mean that we don't have them? Hardly, it does mean that we would be well advised to find an outlet for what we feel and not to surpress it. Many times anger is a result of excess energy in the individual.  Once that energy is utilized, the person feels better, less stressed, less angry and generally more relaxed.  

Our need to battle may be deep within our makeup as individuals.  One of the healthier ways to fulfill that need is in sport.  It is on the battlefield of sports were we meet to compete and to push and yell and scream and at the end, to thank all the other like minded players for coming to play.

Hypnosis is the fastest and most effective way to ease into change.  Change becomes difficult when our conscious mind and subconscious mind are in conflict.

Imagery and hypnosis creates links between the two minds.

As your mind begins to align, it brings together your conscious desires and your subconscious motivation. When they begin working together you have stress free behavioral change

Seeing resistance for what it is, a step forward.

Resistance is the subconscious part of your mind telling the conscious part of your mind that it cannot be done and we should keep things as they are. 

If that is acceptable than you are congruent and on the right track. The subconscious part of your mind is acting in harmony with your conscious desire. 

If, on the other hand, your conscious desire is being crushed by resistance then a good hypnotist may be in your future. 

Hypnosis is the fastest and most effective way to ease into change. Hypnosis gives the the mind time to align your conscious desires with your mind's subconscious motivation. This is what makes for easy change or transition. Understanding the working of the mind in this way leaves out the oppressive resistance that can be associated with change.

The Angry Athlete

It is normal for an athlete to feel anger or frustration when they fail to meet their expectations. 
The handling of these emotions during competition or practice can determine the success
or failure of that athlete.

When missing the shot or a block or an opportunity it is normal to experience a moment of disappointment and to adjust. The athlete who becomes unwound and overreacts with feelings of frustration or anger at the mishap is overreacting. This overreaction can causes overload in the athlete which causes a loss of focus. Thinking about the mistake or error keeps the athlete in the past and at a disadvantage as they miss opportunities due to being in their own head and not in the game.

To focus and rebalance is simple. It includes breathing and anchoring back to calm.
 
During mental preparation the athlete is asked to relax and imagine themselves in a place of calm. This place has characteristics that will involve all the senses. It can become a place of calm, a place of power, a place of beauty and a place to regenerate. The athlete is taught to anchor back, if only for a moment, to this feeling or this place, when things heat up in life or during competitions.

Anchoring might be a rubbing together of the thumb and the index finger while taking in one or two conscious breaths of air.  Anchoring can be a word or even a touch on a part of the body. 
Once anchored and calmer, the athlete has a moment to pause and engage both sides of their brain.  
Once the emotional side of the brain and the intellectual side of the brain are engaged together, 
a calmer and more intelligent response can follow.

Having emotions and passions is what makes an athlete and is a key ingredient to their success.
Having the tools to rebalance when a disruption to that success occurs is important to becoming an emotionally developed athlete.

                             Are you aware that you are Awesome?

                   You have either evolved and adapted over millions 
                    of years to become the miracle that you see today.

                                                     or
                                 
                          YOU were created in the image of G-d.


If we should we cut ourselves, we will heal. The miracle of healing is expedited when we support our body. Maybe an image of strength or a light deep within us, glowing and adding our mental strength. This image we create speaks directly to our subconscious, our mind's computer, and access is gained to support our body. The image is our password.



Other lesser organisms may invade the body and your system will adjust and deal with the situation far more efficiently then our mind perceives. Our job might be to support that system and therefore believe in the workings of your body.

Your skin is a shield and it has partners such as good bacteria. We have allies and our armies inside our bodies that not only fight intruders and destroy them but also will remember the enemy and will have the right tools ready with the appropriate antibodies even 50 or 80 years later.

Part of being healthier is to trust your body and to know yourself to be awesome.                            
To trust your body is to support your body and discover better health.

Appreciate your Body

When was the last time you showed your body some appreciation? 
                                                            After all the times you used it and abused it by eating badly, maybe drinking too much or offering your body less sleep then it is asking for.  Maybe, a little appreciation to balance out some of the many ‘yucks’ you uttered to yourself in the mirror.  Is that how you want your body and you to get along, it gives and you take? You do realize that your body will answer back with it’s own way of expressing itself. 



The simple truth is your body will resist your efforts to change as long as you 
resist showing it the appreciation it deserves.                                             

Isn't it time to begin showing your body the appreciation it deserves?
Without criticism, 
Without judgment                                                                           
Without anymore 'yucks' at yourself in the mirror

Once you stop pushing against yourself and end the resistance war against your body it will respond in all the ways you had hope for.  All healthy relationships in life require a mutual respect and appreciation and the relationship between you and your body is no different.  If you speak to it with kindness and with praise and with appreciation your body will answer back with appreciation of it’s own.  Holding back the praise and appreciation until some unforeseeable event in future has occurred is not acceptable because your body requires COD.  The time for appreciation is now without waiting, and without any conditions to be met.

Gaining Access to The Computer Inside Your Head

In high school in the 70’s we had computers and we input information by way of punch cards much like voting ballots today.  The next decades brought us the keyboard and later the mouse to access our computers.  The smart phone and upcoming smart glasses continue to make access easier and faster. With technology always on the cutting edge, it can safely be said that almost everyone regardless of age knows how to access their home computer, laptop, ipad or phone to input or receive information.                                                                                                                                      

What about the computer inside of our heads? Who is teaching us how to input the information into our mind’s computer.  This computer that comes to us as standard equipment has no off switch and therefore it runs continuously.  It has the potential to give us exactly what we want from life but few are learning how to use it.  Without the knowledge of how to input our desires we run the risk of being controlled by our own mind. This simple dynamic of not gaining access is the cause for most people to not get out of life what they feel they deserve.

As a child we learn to picture things.  We can see someone doing something and simply picture ourselves doing it.  This worked well when learning to walk and learning to talk.  As we become adults we forgot that it is the pictures or the images that we send to our mind that activates our brain.  These images are our mouse and keyboard to the computer in our mind.  It is a common practice to imagine or visualize anything before actually accomplishing it.  To see ones self doing it, experiencing it, owning it and feeling what it is like to have it.  It is as if the person owns it now and not at some future time. Simply, see yourself the way you want to be. Closing ones eyes when doing these images brings more clarity. 

Controlling the pictures you send to your mind and you control your outcome.  It is not positive thinking but a process of activating the subconscious mind.  The subconscious is 88% of the entire mind and clearly determines our behavior and how we take in and process information.  A positive image can become a subconscious destination.  Without such a destination we will continually circle as you would when driving your car to a destination without an address or directions
